Once a year, the Catkin Café and Orcas Island Artworks in Olga open their doors for an ice cream social inspired by strawberries. This charming duo brings the Orcas Island community together to kick off summer fun. Mark your calendar – this year’s much anticipated social is Sunday, June 18th from 12 to 2pm!
This unique event features strawberry themed art and food accompanied by live music. Plus, FREE ICE CREAM! If that doesn’t draw your attention, maybe some of their beautiful art pieces will. This event also features Orcas Island Artwork’s new sculpture garden as well as live art demonstrations. Open to both island residents and visitors, this is a great place to meet members of the community and enjoy some truly local food, art, and fun!
What about the rest of the year?
When Catkin Cafe isn’t hosting the Strawberry Festival they are open for breakfast and lunch. Their menu features island-grown produce and island-raised meat alongside an irresistible variety of house-made pastries and sweets. Connected by an open-concept space, Orcas Island Artworks highlights and sells unique pieces created by some of the island’s most talented artists. The Gallery features everything from paintings to pottery and, located just outside of Moran State Park, it is a wonderful place to wind down after a hike and grab a bite to eat!
Because The Artworks and Catkin Cafe are just a few miles from our Moran State Park glamping sites, you should certainly plan on weaving both in to your Washington State glamping vacation this summer. If you haven’t booked your glamping site just yet, we recommend that you do so straight away.
