2023 Season Experience Update: B.Y.O.B. (bring your own bedding and bath supplies)
We setup cedar platforms with canvas tents on walk-in Moran State Park campsites.
You take it from there.
Make a big impact this Earth Day! The *Great Island Clean Up* is the perfect Earth Day activity for families and couples alike.
Each Earth Day, hundreds of people gather throughout the islands to help with annual spring cleaning by picking-up litter off our beautiful beaches and scenic winding roads. As hard as it is to imagine as you look over idyllic island scenery, over 6200lbs of litter was gathered up on the islands last year alone!
Help Wildlife
Litter is a major threat to the many amazing creatures that call the San Juan Islands and the waterways around them home. Refuse thrown from cars or left on the beach can be mistaken for food by animals. This may cause wildlife to ingest items that they shouldn’t and get sick. Plastics make their way into marine habitats, threatening animals such as our majestic Orcas and iconic bald eagles.
You have the power to make a change
On April 22, 2018, join the many islanders and visitors who want to help make the islands a safer place for everyone. Explore stunning beaches and scenic backroads while doing the earth a favor. You can work with an existing group or bring enough people along to make your own! You’ll get to know both fellow visitor as well as all the incredible human and furry island characters.
Go Glamping
Make LEANTO your home basecamp for your ecofriendly adventure! We’re located right in the heart of Moran State Park, surrounded by 38 miles of trails and 5 fresh water lakes. Our glamping tents are the perfect spot to fully appreciate all the good you did for the islands and the earth during your vacation.
