Have you ever been in a participation only parade? This weekend you could get your chance! The annual Olga Daze Celebration is this Saturday, and it’ll be full of fun games, food, a rummage sale, and, you guessed it, a parade where the attendees are the main attraction!
This celebration takes place on the lawn of the Olga Community Center from 10am-3pm on July 21st.
What is Olga Daze?
Olga Daze has been an Orcas Island tradition for over two decades, and draws locals and visitors alike. Mosey on down to Olga, just a short drive from LEANTO®, and Moran State Park. Get there early enough, and you could even enjoy a delicious breakfast of homemade maple bars from the bake sale. No worries if you roll in later in the day and you stomach starts rumbling. They’ll also serve up hot dogs and chili on the lawn.
More than food
Roll in and listen to live music from local artists as you peruse. Check out the large rummage sale taking place among all of the food and games as you wander around. Lots of great items will be up for purchase until 2:30pm. This event is totally family-friendly, and there will be a variety of fun games for kids going on throughout the day. Not to mention face painting and a pie eating contest!
You’re in the parade
Like we said, the parade starts at high noon in front of the Olga Community Center, and meanders down the main street of sweet little Olga. Everyone is invited to walk, dance or skip their way in the procession! You could even hop a ride on the firetruck that leads the way! Be sure to wear your craziest hat for extra points, and to possibly win a prize!
All proceeds from this event go toward preserving the Olga Community Center, a true piece of island history. So, if you’re looking for a great way to spend your Saturday getting to know Orcas Island just a little bit better, grab your wackiest hat, your appetite, and make your way down to Olga Daze for some authentic family fun!

If you act fast, you might even be able to book a night this season. Our availability changes quickly this time of the year, but as we type, there are still a few scattered midweek nights available!
