2023 Season Experience Update: B.Y.O.B. (bring your own bedding and bath supplies)
We setup cedar platforms with canvas tents on walk-in Moran State Park campsites.
You take it from there.
The days are getting longer, the grass is getting greener, and it’s time to start planning your family’s summer adventures! You’re picturing taking your adventurous little glampers into the great outdoors. You’ll be climbing mountains and splashing in waterfalls. All of that exploration leads straight to the unavoidable rumbling of bellies that’ll need some good food.
No worries; you’ve come to the right place! Our LEANTO® Adventure Ambassadors have compiled a list of our favorite kiddo- friendly spots to eat on Orcas Island!
Are you looking for something laid back by the water? Maybe you’d prefer something with a kicked-up menu and outdoor seating? Orcas has you covered. Get those taste buds ready for delicious food at Orcas Island restaurants that you and your family will enjoy!
Madrona Bar and Grill
This Orcas Island restaurant is and Island mainstay: open seven days a week from 11am-9pm. Better yet, it’s located right on the water. Madrona Bar and Grill is an easy island favorite! The menu is full of crowd-pleasers for little ones (burgers, fries and pizza), and also offers full entrées for those after something a bit more substantial.
Quick tip: Be sure to try their locally-made raviolis!
Mijitas
One of our faves. Mijitas offers kicked-up Mexican fare for the adults, and a ‘just right’ kid’s menu for your little ones. Definitely something for everyone! Better yet, fun outdoor seating and a relaxed atmosphere, make this the perfect spot to kick back and relax after exploring the island with the kiddos.
Quick tips: This Orcas Island restaurant is open every day but Sunday in the summer months. It’s a really popular spot, so you’ll certainly want to make a reservation to avoid a wait.
Cascade Bar and Grill
This seasonal Orcas Island Restaurant is located just under ten minutes from our Moran State Park campsites at Rosario Resort. Cascade Bar and Grill offers easy outside dining right on the marina! It’s open seasonally seven days a week until 9pm, and is the perfect spot to get fish and chips or local oysters. Even your picky eaters should find something that makes them happy.
Quick tip: The Cascade Bar and Grill menu is full of yummy sandwiches, burgers, and milkshakes!
Wild Island Restaurant and Juice Bar
If you’re after a healthy morning or midday option, Wild Island Restaurant and Juice Bar is the perfect choice. An Adventure Ambassador fave, Wild Island works with fresh, organic ingredients to prepare cooked-to-order meals that taste great and keep your kiddos happy. They don’t shy away from mixing and matching, so picky eaters can craft the perfect bowl!
Quick tip: Wild Island is open 8am-4pm Tuesday – Saturday, bakes organic bagels in-house along with sourdough whole wheat bread, and gluten free vegan tahini chocolate chip cookies!
