The days are longer, the temps are warmer, and the birds are chirping. Spring has officially sprung so that means it’s almost camping season!
Our Moran State Park Platform Tents will be open for the 2023 camping season before you know it. We’ve opened our booking engine for the 2023 camping season, and are excited to open the tent flaps for the 2023 season June 15th – September 5th.
Lots of Washington State Parks offer amazing outdoor recreation opportunities. In fact, eight Washington State Parks are in good company with the National Parks in this recent Conde Nast Traveler article. Of course, we’re flattered that our Platform Tents were mentioned as part of the Moran State Park experience!

Moran State Park
For wild island getaways in the Pacific Northwest, it’s hard to beat the delightfully remote Moran State Park. Set on sparsely populated Orcas Island, the largest of the San Juan archipelago, the thickly forested destination is an outdoor recreation hub for island hoppers complete with several freshwater lakes for boating and swimming. To get here, you’ll need to catch the Washington State Ferries, which connect to San Juan and other nearby launch points, as well as Seattle. Pack boots to hit the park’s 38 miles of trails and, if you’re down for a workout, hike or bike up Mount Constitution, the tallest point in the islands. You can also drive up to the summit to visit the interpretive center and take in the views from there.
Where to stay: If standard tent camping isn’t glamorous enough for you, you can reserve one of the five furnished platform tent sites for some proper island glamping.
