Take a hike
Moran State Park + Orcas Island = Hiker Paradise
There are more than 30 miles of hiking trails to explore and yes, the trails start right around the corner from your glamping site.
There’s also quite a nice trail system on the other side of Orcas Island at the Turtleback Mountain Preserve.
Row your boat
There are lots of ways to get out on the water!
Cast a line
Fishing in Moran State park is plenty of fun. Cascade Lake and Mountain Lake are the two most popular lakes to fish.
Know before you go: You’ll need a Fishing License! Fishing is open from the 4th Saturday in April to October 31st every year.
Rent a boat
Orcas Adventures is right around the corner from our Moran State Park glamping sites. They’re nice folks who rent kayaks, paddle boards, pedal boats, canoes and row boats on Cascade Lake!
Know before you go: They’re open for rentals Memorial Day Weekend – Labor Day Weekend
Sea kayak
Though it will be tough to leave your Moran State Park glamping site, getting out on the water should be a part of your Orcas Island Adventure!
Know before you go: Check out Orcas Island sea kayaking options here.
Go whale watching
Have a beach day
At Cascade Lake
There’s a day use beach at Cascade Lake right around the corner from your Moran State Park Glamping Site. It’s a short walk along the main road or a short drive to get there.
Know before you go: There’s a seasonal concession stand that serves up sweet treats waiting for you!
At Crescent Beach
You’ll probably see this beach on your right as you head toward Camp from Eastsound. It’s the quickest, easiest way to get to public saltwater shoreline on Orcas Island.
Know before you go: There’s also a small trail system on the parking side of the road!
At Obstruction Pass
This is our favorite beach on the Island and it may be yours, too. It’s about a 15 minute drive from Camp and a mile hike down to the beach from the parking area.
Know before you go: While it offers a mile of saltwater shoreline, there are no other services! No potable water – pack-in & pack-out!
Enjoy a bike ride
